Is Open Painter really free?
Yes. The complete painting engine, layers, masks, baking, export and bundled materials are free. Open Painter is GPL-3.0 licensed and works offline, without an account.
What am I paying for with Materials+?
A maintained collection of smart material packs, alphas, generators and decals, plus library updates and delivery through Connect. You are subscribing to content and a service; the painting engine stays free.
What happens when I cancel?
You can cancel through your billing page. Your subscription remains available through its paid period. Installed files stay on your computer under the Materials+ license; new downloads and updates require an active subscription.
How does Teams pricing work?
Teams is billed per team, based on self-declared annual revenue. It is free below $10,000, $50/month from $10,000 to $200,000, and $99/month above $200,000. All bands include shared libraries, roles, invitations and sync. Materials+ is a separate subscription.
Do I need Connect?
Only for account-connected libraries and sync. Open Painter itself is a complete offline tool. Connect is a separate, optional, GPL-licensed companion extension.
